Ballyboley Forest

West of Larne on Ballymena Rd. Park in car park on south side of forest. A good amount of forest track, and options also outside the forest itself. Bits and pieces of single track. Worth a blast if in the area, but don't travel from afar.

  • ive only ridden the trail, as the single track is messed up by the motocross boys. at the moment some "forestry work" clearing trees so get out of the way if the lorry is coming your way. have to be careful when its wet it will be a bit sticky muddy and big stones in places but mostly very smooth hard pack gravel & earth with pine needle covering.

big gates and thin passage at the side of them makes it difficult to keep riding a circuit so have to hop off entering and exiting the forest trail. some nice short hard climbs and one big downhill (if its clear have a blast as its not as slippy i first feared)

wide berth for walkers with dogs is the norm but doesnt distract from the fun. the end quarter is probably the most fun as you can let rip all the way.
